Wednesday Netflix is returning for a second season! 

Alfred Gough and Miles Millar, the show's creators, announced in an interview with Tudum on Jan. 6, 2023, that the show has been renewed for a second season. 

In a statement, they stated, "It's been fantastic to produce a show that has connected with people all over the world. "I'm excited to carry on with Wednesday's painful season two trip. We can't wait to explore the weird, eerie world of Nevermore in yet another season. We simply need to confirm that Wednesday didn't empty the pool first." 

The series, which is based on Charles Addams' creations, follows Jenna Ortega as the titular Wednesday Addams as she works at her new school, Nevermore Academy, to solve a monstrous mystery. 

The show has been eagerly awaited since it was initially revealed in 2021 because of Tim Burton's involvement as executive producer and a host of A-list celebrities, including Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and former Wednesday Addams, Christina Ricci. 

The showrunners and cast have already teased a few details about the upcoming season after the hugely popular season 1 debut.

Which cast members would be back for Season 2 of Wednesday? 

Along with the rest of the Addams family, including Zeta-Jones and Guzmán as Morticia Addams and Gomez Addams, respectively, Ortega will probably reprise her role as Wednesday.

Gough and Millar stated that they would love to include even more Addams Family members in season 2 in an interview with TVLine. Co-showrunner Millar said, "We felt like we just scratched the surface with those characters and the actors are so amazing in those roles. 

Even while Wednesday will continue to be the focus of the show in a second season, the writers went on to say that they "certainly want to include the family like we did this season in a couple of episodes." 

 

What would the topic of Wednesday season 2 be? 

Although the official description for the upcoming season hasn't been released yet, the showrunners have already stated that they intend to explore Wednesday's character development even more. 

According to Gough, "the series is essentially about a girl who only views the world in black and white and learns there are shades of grey." Will there be a third season of Wednesday? 

In an interview with Variety, Millar disclosed that the show already has a few seasons planned. When we get down to producing a show, we ideally look at numerous seasons, because for us, the future is always in focus. 

"Although that was never anticipated, it represents the expectation that the show will be a success. Therefore, you always plan out the prospective storylines for the characters for at least three or four seasons. It can develop and adapt, he continued, adding that "we already have a pretty good idea of what we want to do in the coming seasons."
