Here is information about the Wednesday cast of Netflix's Wednesday, including information about their prior roles and dating relationships.

Netflix enjoys a brand-new day of the week.

Wednesday, the most recent episode of the streaming service's Addams Family series, has been watched more than 400 million times in a single week, making it one of the most watched episodes ever on Netflix. Shortly after its record-breaking release in November 2022, the series was renewed for a second season.

Tim Burton, the fantasy-horror mastermind behind blockbusters like Corpse Bride and The Nightmare Before Christmas, gave Charles Addams' creations his distinct, unsettling vision. The show centres on Wednesday Addams, the daughter of the Addams Family, as she enrols in the mythical Nevermore Academy, which, according to its website, is a prestigious institution for "outcasts, oddities, and monsters." Morticia and Gomez Addams, Wednesday's parents, also met there. The show's star, Jenna Ortega, had no trouble assuming the role of Wednesday.

People have reported me Since I was six years old, the actress has said that I resemble her. Additionally, I have an awful sense of humour.

Here, you can find out everything you need to know about the Wednesday cast, from where you last saw them to their relationships outside of the show.

Jenna Ortega as Wednesday Addams

Before getting the lead role on Wednesday, Jenna Ortega, 20, was already a rising talent. However, the series has undoubtedly raised her profile. Even though she began acting as a child, before taking on the role of Wednesday, Ortega was most known for playing Ellie Alves in You's second season. The California native played the young Jane on Jane the Virgin from 2014 until 2019. She then appeared in the Disney Channel sitcom Stuck in the Middle as Harley Diaz.

The young actress has a long list of film credits in addition to her TV performances, having roles in The Babysitter: Killer Queen and Yes Day on Netflix as well as The Fallout on HBO Max in 2021 alone.

By acting in two different horror films in 2022, Ortega had already established herself as a scream queen before the premiere on Wednesday. She first appeared as Tara Carpenter in Scream 5 and will reprise the role in Scream 6 the following year. Then she made a cameo as a director of pornographic films in A24's X, an independent slasher with a 1970s background. The most recent performer to play the death-obsessed young girl created by artist Charles Addams is Ortega, who replaced Christina Ricci and Lisa Loring. According to Ortega's interview with W Magazine, she studied German, as part of her preparation for the role, she even taught herself to play the cello and practised not to blink.

She explained to the media how she and director Burton came up with their interpretation of Wednesday's infamous scowl, saying, "One day, I performed a take where I didn't blink at all." He told me not to blink again because he was so taken with it. If I did blink, we would have to try again the take.

When Wednesday dances Gothically to The Cramps at her high school dance in Nevermore. "The Goo Goo Muck," is one of the most riveting scenes in the entire series. The bizarre activities on Wednesday soon drew a large number of followers, which Ortega later claimed she devised on her own.

"I created that choreography myself!" Ne told Ortega. "It should be clear that I'm not a dancer. I merely took what I could from the song I'd received a week earlier. It's crazy because it was difficult to film on my first day working with COVID."

Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams

Morticia Addams, played by 53-year-old Catherine Zeta-Jones, is the family patriarch.

In musicals like Annie and Bugsy Malone, the young actress who won an Academy Award made her acting debut in London's West End. From 1991 to 1993, She appeared in The Darling Buds of May, a British television show. Zeta-Jones established herself in movies like The Mask of Zorro (1998), Entrapment (1999), Traffic (2000), and Chicago after relocating to Los Angeles (2002). In each of these movies, she was nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

She reprised her role as Olivia de Havilland in Ryan Murphy's anthology series Feud's inaugural season in 2017. She debuted on a streaming series on Wednesday after appearing in the drama Prodigal Son's second season on Fox in 2021.

For the Netflix series, Zeta-Jones asserts that she set out to develop a fresh take on the venerable figure. She put a lot of effort into making Morticia into a modern mother with many of the same worries as other parents of teenagers, albeit with a supernatural twist.

"It is, in fact, Wednesday's story. I'm hoping Wednesday's storey is told indefinitely so I can play Morticia till I'm old "She uttered. At the age of 80, I think nothing would make me happier than to keep playing Morticia.

Zeta-Jones has been married to Michael Douglas for 22 years and they have two children together, Carys and Dylan. Wednesday's L.A. premiere was attended by Dylan, 22, along with his mother, who spoke to PEOPLE about the support her kids have given her.

About their "extremely tight relationship," she stated, "both my daughter and Dylan have been so immensely supportive to me, not only as an actor but just me, you know."I've been very fortunate to have both in my life, she continued.

The character Wednesday was compared to Carys the next month by Zeta-Jones. On December 22, 2022, the actress posted a throwback video of her daughter gazing off-camera while sporting a black and white top at a school event.

"Carys, my tiny girl's actual daughter." The caption was written by Zeta-Jones. "For the past 19 years and 9 months, I have lived with a Wednesday Addams. You are loved by Morticia and myself, my little rain cloud."

Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams

In the Netflix series, Luis Guzmán, 66, portrays the affable Addams Family patriarch and Morticia's husband. The Puerto Rican actor was most recognized for his role as Raoul "El Cid" Hernandez in HBO's Oz before playing Gomez.

Additionally, he made appearances in the films Traffic (2001), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), and Boogie Nights (1997), where he first met Catherine Zeta-Jones, the future wife he would wed on television.

Guzmán discussed his casting on Wednesday on The Rich Eisen Show, alleging that Burton approached him and allowed him to play the part without demanding an audition. Guzmán accepted right once, but his passion for the idea grew after reading the first draught of the script.

"The script was delivered. It was read by me. The writing is amazing, but this isn't a slapstick comedy, you know? The writing is superb and amusing. The delivery makes it funny. That is what genuinely persuaded me "He elaborated.

Since 1985, Guzmán and Angelita Galarza-Guzmán have been wed. They have two kids together. Seven children are born to the couple.

Isaac Ordonez as Pugsley Addams

Pugsley Addams, Wednesday's favourite torture victim, was played by 13-year-old actor Isaac Ordonez. The young actor made his acting debut in the Netflix series, despite having appeared in several independent and short films, including Disney's A Wrinkle in Time (2018). J-14 heard Ordonez say that playing such a well-known character "not at all" worried him.

He said, "I just went in blind," adding that he intended to give Pugsley a "funny" aspect. "I just went with it and made him," she said.

He also learned a few things from his TV older sister. "She handled Wednesday in a great manner. She completely nailed her role "Added Ordonez" about Ortega. Wednesday is a more serious persona, yet Jenna's comedic streak still exists in her.

Christina Ricci as Marilyn Thornhill

When she was 10 years old, 42-year-old Christina Ricci played the title character in The Addams Family. Making her acting come full circle by joining the Wednesday cast.

Before going on to star in several 1990s blockbusters, including Casper and Now and Then, the actress played Wednesday again in Addams Family Values in 1993. Ricci later acted in films such as Sleepy Hollow (1999), The Opposite of Sex (1998), and Monster, to mention a few (2003).

In addition, she made her television debut in 2002 by starring in The Lizzie Borden Chronicles on Lifetime and making an appearance in the short-lived ABC series Pan Am. Ricci is also presently starring as Misty Quigley in Showtime's critically acclaimed Yellowjackets television series.

Ricci played Marylin Thornhill in Nevermore, the house mother of Wednesday's dorm, returning to the Addams Family universe more than 30 years later. Ricci said she was excited to see Ortega play the classic role when asked about passing the torch to the newcomer.

Ricci stated, "I enjoyed it being Wednesday. "That responsibility makes me incredibly proud. Jenna Ortega, in my opinion, is outstanding. She is incredibly calm, courageous, and perfectly cast in the role. Now that Wednesday has arrived, each of those statements could be accurate."

In addition to her job, Ricci is a mother to two kids. She and her ex-husband James Heerdegen had their son Freddie, who is now eight years old, in 2014. Ricci filed for divorce from Heerdegen in July 2020. In August 2021, the actress made the first pregnancy announcement for the pair, revealing that she was expecting hairstylist Mark Hampton as her second child. Two months later, in October, Ricci and Hampton exchanged vows. Their daughter Cleopatra was born to them in December 2021, making her one-year-old.

Gwendoline Christie as Larissa Weems

Gwendoline Christie, 44, a Game of Thrones alum, portrays Principal Weems of Nevermore on Wednesday. She is tasked with maintaining harmony with both the "normie" people of the nearby town and the children at the school. Christie has been in several well-known movie franchises, but she is perhaps best recognized for her role as Brienne of Tarth in the HBO series.

Christie portrayed Commander Lyme in the 2015 film The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 2, the concluding chapter of The Hunger Games series. In the same year as Star Wars: In Star Wars, she played Captain Phasma: She reprised the role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Force Awakens.

On Wednesday, Christie performed Principal Weems, which was different from some of her previous roles. The performer, who worked with Burton to develop the heroic commander of Nevermore, opened out to Entertainment Weekly about the significance of the role to her.

He told her, "You can build the persona into whatever you want; feel free to do that, and we'll keep talking about it," Christie recalled. And what a fantastic opportunity from this legendary film master.

She continued, "I've never felt more attractive on screen."

Christie has been in a committed relationship with fashion designer Giles Deacon since 2013. For the first time, the two collaborated on Christie's wardrobe for her role as Lucifer in Netflix's The Sandman adaptation.

Emma Myers as Enid Sinclair

Due to Emma Myers' portrayal of the werewolf-in-training as an uplifting (and
colourful) influence on the sad main character of the series, Wednesday, Enid Sinclair rapidly became a favourite among readers. Her prior roles include Girl in the Basement (2021) and A Taste of Christmas (2020). Since she was a small child, she has been performing.

On Wednesday, Myers got her best role yet, and for the first time in her career, she was able to collaborate with young artists. The actress cited getting to know her fellow cast members as one of the finest aspects of filming the show in Romania.

"Around my age, I've never worn a cast. I am typically the youngest actor on set "She uttered. Our communication was excellent.

Joy Sunday as Bianca Barclay

Bianca Barclay,
Never more's resident "its girl," is dissatisfied with Wednesday Addams' entrance since she instantly jeopardizes the school's atmosphere. Even though the queen bee's aggressive behaviour toward the protagonist is nothing new, 27-year-old Joy Sunday wanted to show a different side of the stereotypical "mean chick."

As Sunday said Deadline, "I was just thrilled to be able to put my twist on it and to bring a nuanced take on the cruel girl, the tough lady." The opportunity to portray her makes me feel fortunate.

Sunday previously made appearances on Freeform's Good Trouble and Netflix's Dear White People. Black Panther: Tales of Wakanda is one of the audiobooks she has narrated using her voice. The actress claims to be a tremendous fan of Danai Gurira, who plays the title character in the film Black Panther. She aspires to work on a future project with the actress.

"I would be excited about any chance to work with her. The production might go till Wednesday if it's not a Marvel movie. Possibly tomorrow will come "After speaking with Deadline.

Hunter Doohan as Tyler Galpin

After a strange encounter with Wednesday Addams at the coffee shop where he works, Tyler Galpin, a "normie" who lives in the nearby town of Nevermore, quickly becomes friends with her. Galpin, played by 28-year-old Hunter Doohan, is a dramatic contrast to Wednesday's gloom and doom with his down-to-earth
demeanour.

Doohan co-starred with Bryan Cranston in the Showtime series Your Honor before playing Wednesday's prospective love interest in the Netflix series. In the Truth Be Told episode on Apple TV+, he also had the role of a younger Aaron Paul.

In June 2022, Doohan wed his longtime partner Fielder Jewett in an off-screen ceremony performed by his father, actor Bryan Cranston!

Percy Hynes White as Xavier Thorpe

P. H. Hynes White, 21, portrays the evil bad boy in the television show Nevermore. Before Edge of Winter (2016) and A Christmas Horror Story, White has roles in previous movies. He starred as the mutant Andy Strecker in Fox's X-Men spinoff The Gifted in 2016.

White had his biggest role to date on Wednesday, but he described his time on set as "nice" despite the pressures of filming a significant series.

He told the Toronto Star, "It felt like working on a gigantic blockbuster movie, and you're with all of your buddies and you're just having a ball."

On another project, Hynes White will have the opportunity to collaborate with Ortega, a friend, from Wednesday. The two will appear in MPCA's Winter Spring Summer or Fall, for which Ortega is also working as executive producer, according to a Dec. 15, 2022, story from Deadline. The plot centres on two teenagers who fall in love over four annual days.

Both Hynes White and Ortega made an appearance at Billboard's 2023 Golden Globes afterparty, where Hynes White wore a glittery black jacket and Ortega dazzled in a bustier corset with a collar inspired by Wednesday.

Victor Dorobantu as Thing

Magician Victor Dorobantu, 25, took on the role of the disembodied hand from the Addams Family. Every Addams Family adaptation has had the five-fingered character Thing, but Burton's version was a little
more Burton-esque.

"Thing was a unique type of Thing. It has sewing marks all over it. It has a completely different interpretation, "According to Dorobantu, Vanity Fair.

Though only a little portion of the Romanian hand performance showed on screen on Wednesday, the character took much preparation. This is the performer's first significant television project. When creating Thing's language, Dorobantu informed the journal that he also researched military hand signals, morse code, and American Sign Language. He sat behind Ortega during filming in a bluescreen costume to make himself as unnoticeable as possible.

Fred Armisen as Uncle Fester

Uncle Fester, played by Fred Armisen, was one of the most well-known characters in the show even though he only appeared in one
episode. Furthermore, Vanity Fair said that, despite his diminutive stature, Armisen, 56, chose to shave his head rather than wear a bald cap "to just make it that much more convincing."

According to showrunner Miles Millar, Armisen "was always that first decision." even though fans have many opinions about who may play the Addams Family's electrifying relative. The hiring of Uncle Fester was kept a mystery before the show's debut.

On Wednesday, Armisen will have a single episode in addition to his countless past cameos on shows including Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt. Despite this, he is the most well-known comic thanks to his spectacular performances on Saturday Night Live and his sketch comedy series Portlandia.
